The 16oz ‘Big Daddy’ steak is back in Aldi stores for less than a fiver

Marc Mayo

It works out as just 31p per ounce of tender British beef

Savvy shoppers have the opportunity to secure their very own ‘Big Daddy’ steak at Aldi this Friday, as the 16 ounce behemoth returns for just £4.99.

The supermarket will be filling their shelves with limited stocks of the rump cut until every last one is gone, meaning hungry buyers should get out there and act quickly to bag their slice of meat.

The 16oz steak actually weighs in at almost half a kilogramme and is constituted of a very lean cut, best cooked on a very high heat to taste with a resting time of around ten minutes. Comparatively, Tesco’s Finest steaks come in at £6.65 for just over 12oz of meat.

One hundred per cent British beef, the steak is Red Tractor approved as a sign of it being responsibly sourced.

Aldi describes the offer as ‘once again allowing customers to make substantial savings on luxury products without compromise’.
