A glimpse of Conor McGregor’s Icelandic training as he puts Gunnar Nelson through his paces

Looks like tough going

It’s smart sparring, but it’s not easy sparring.

SBG are known for prioritising technique over full-throttle power when it comes to sparring sessions, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t break a sweat.

A number of SBG fighters are over at Mjölnir MMA in Reykjavík to help prepare Gunnar Nelson for his welterweight clash with Albert Tumenov which is slated for two weeks from now.

Conor McGregor, Paddy Holohan, Cathal Pendred and Peter Queally have joined forced with Nelson’s Icelandic training partners and it seems like everybody is getting work done.

McGregor, who has now confirmed that he will fight at UFC 200, was filmed going hard with both Nelson and Queally in the cage during sparring.

‘The Notorious’ has made a lot of noise about wanting to put training before all media activity this time around – and he certainly seems to be putting that philosophy into practice in Iceland.
