Here's why being in shape makes you a better drinker
It turns out your beer belly might be holding you back from reaching your full drinking potential.
If you've ever gone drinking with your football team after a match, you might have noticed that you're all able to put away more drinks than your usual group of mates.
But it's not because everyone's extra thirsty after a long match, but to do with the fact they've probably got a lower amount of body fat that usual.
According to the BBC, alcohol isn't absorbed into fatty tissue, but instead builds up in the blood, resulting in stronger effects.
This means that the higher your percentage of body fat, the more alcohol in your bloodstream.
So basically adding more body fat can actually turn you into a lightweight.
