Things are looking good for British strongman Eddie Hall.
The Stoke-on-Trent powerhouse recently obliterated the world deadlift record, hitting
a remarkable 500kg lift.
The 28-year-old is just weeks away from taking on the planet's most powerful men at World's Strongest Man 2016.
He told JOE that his
training for WSM couldn't have been better and he was bigger, stronger, faster and more up for it than ever before.
But the omens are looking good for the British behemoth. One video in particular gives an indicator of just how strong he looks coming into the competition after beating Hafthor Bjornsson, who plays The Mountain in Game of Thrones, in a Facebook strength challenge.
Two-time Europe's Strongest Man Thor will undoubtedly be one of the favourite coming into the competition and he filmed himself training for it over in Bangkok - hitting two reps on the clean and press at 150kg.
But Hall posted his own video of his training at Stoke's Strength Asylum gym and he wiped the floor with the Icelandic giant's effort.
Lifting from the floor rather than off blocks, Hall smashes out five reps at 145kg. But then he ups the weight to 165kg and manages to hit four reps in just 25 seconds. The man is a beast.
He really is looking powerful coming into the competition where he will have to be on top of his game to beat the likes of Thor and 2015 champion Brian Shaw.
But Thor was recently
beaten to the Europe's Strongest Man crown by 32-year-old Swindon strongman Laurence Shahlaei, so anything is possible.
