WATCH: Saturday Night Takeaway viewers adored Phillip Schofield’s surprise appearance

Phillip Schofield is a national treasure; a hero amongst men.

This much we already knew. And just in case any of us needed a reminder of this point (and we didn't), just look what he served up for us on Saturday night. Those of us tuning in for Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway certainly weren't expecting a cameo from the This Morning presenter, but sure enough, that's exactly what we got. Ant and Dec, along with James Corden and Joe McElderry , were putting on a special tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber to celebrate his upcoming 70th birthday. Performing a number of song from his musicals, the foursome had stopped for breath during a rendition of Any Dream Will Do, from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
