Viewers of The Voice have noticed something strange going on with the judges

There's a reasonable explanation, but it still looks weird.

It’s fair to say that the general public perhaps doesn’t fully understand the inner workings of television production.

Why would we be expected to? We’re the ones watching it, not making it. That said, sometimes the things we see don’t quite make sense, as the current series of The Voice has shown.

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that throughout the series so far, the judges have all been wearing exactly the same clothes, week in, week out.

It has some people confused, others close to being disgusted.

And they’re not wrong.

Here’s Will.i.am from the first week of blind auditions:

And here he is from the sixth week of blind auditions:

Gavin Rossdale from the second week of auditions:

And again, from the fifth week:

Jennifer Hudson from the first week of auditions:

Jennifer Hudson from the fourth week of auditions:

Sir Tom Jones from the second week of auditions:

And from the sixth week:

It’s true: each week they’ve been wearing exactly the same outfits.

So is the budget for The Voice really so low that they can only afford four different outfits? Are the judges really a gang of smelly wasters that can’t be arsed to get changed between gigs?

The answer is really rather straightforward. A representative from The Voice told the Mirror that the auditions are filmed over the course of a week.

But, the individual auditions aren’t always broadcast in the order they were filmed, so to avoid continuity errors, they just wear the same clothes each week.

Oh the glamour of television production.
