New Netflix film The Unforgiven is now streaming on Netflix

Viewers are all over Sandra Bullock’s latest Netflix film, The Unforgivable.

The movie is available now and viewers are praising Bullock and co-star Viola Davis, with some calling the film the streaming platform’s latest “must watch.”

“thank u for this masterpiece,” wrote one viewer on social media, adding: “I just finished #TheUnforgivable and I’ve had so many emotions in only 1h and 54 min??

“It’s absolutely amazing and Sandra Bullock ATE it…she’s a fucking genius as the whole cast, literally, their role was perfect. And the end made me cry a lot.”

Another user said: “one of the things you can’t fake in this world is talent and sandra bullock once again proves that she have [sp] it; not to mention viola davis’ unfailing presence. the tears and feelings are worth it on this one.”

A third wrote: “The unforgivable on Netflix is so emotional. Sandra Bullock got me cry my eyes out.”

In The Unforgivable, Bullock plays Ruth Slater, a women recently released from prison. She’s served 20 years after committing murder but now she’s trying to piece her life back together.

Netflix’s synopsis reads: “Released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime, Ruth Slater (Bullock) re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past.

“Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind.”

Bullock’s most recognisable to younger audiences because she also starred in 2018 horror-thriller film Bird Box. The movie was about a world that became invaded by a creature which made people feel terrified and suicidal when they looked at it.

Some of the film’s most gruesome scenes inspired some of the biggest memes of 2018 and 2019.

The film also spawned ‘the Bird Box challenge’ meme, where people attempted to travel from A to B blindfolded, similarly to characters in the movie.

Talking of her latest role in The Unforgivable, the 57-year-old Oscar-winning actor said she prepared for the job by meeting a number of women currently in prison. She says the experience led to her getting a tattoo and also helped her learn how to be a better mum.

“One of my tattoos was in honour of one of the women that I got to interview that helped me with insight to my daughter,” she told Extra.

She added: “She, too, went through the foster care system and there was something that was similar and she says, ‘Oh, my God, that happened to me. That’s who I was.’

“I got home and I go, ‘How is it that I went there to get her story, and I left there being a better parent because of the gift that she gave me?’”
