Phillip Schofield joked with young lover about 'still getting away with it'

‘If I’m still getting away with it, I’ll be a happy man’

Footage has resurfaced of Phillip Schofield joking with his lover whilst the pair worked together on This Morning.

On Friday evening, Schofield released a statement in which he revealed he had lied about having a relationship with a younger colleague whilst he was married to his then-wife Stephanie Lowe.

He announced he had resigned from ITV and was dropped by his management company shortly after.

Now, MailOnline reports that footage has emerged of Schofield joking with his young lover about the presenter’s long career on This Morning.

The publication has seen a showreel filmed in 2014 of Schofield with the man, who was working as an ITV production assistant at the time.

In the video Schofield is asked where he thinks he’ll be in three years time.

In the video, Schofield jokes that he “‘can’t find a way out” of presenting the ITV daytime show after having hosted the show for 12 years at the time.

Later in the video, conversation turns to what the pair will “both be doing” in three years time, to which the veteran presenter replies: “Well, if I’m still getting away with it, I’ll be a happy man.”

The video ends with the ITV employee alongside Holly Willoughby on the This Morning sofa.

He asks the host what she makes of his presenting skills, according to MailOnline.

When she tells him it was “very good actually,” he jokes: “There you go, watch out Schofe.”

Phillip then says: “Oi, you b*****d!”

On Monday, the 61-year-old posted a statement online in which he hit out at those who have a “grudge” against him.

In an Instagram post, he said it was “the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.”

He went on to describe This Morning as “the best show to work on, with the best people,” adding that there was “no toxicity” in all the years he worked on the show.

This came after former This Morning regular Dr Ranj Singh released a statement claiming he raised concerns about “bullying and discrimination” two years ago when he worked there and afterwards felt like he was “managed out” for whistleblowing.

Another vocal critic of Schofield in recent days has been former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes.

The GB News presenter has accused his former colleague of ‘deceiving and lying to’ him during their time on the show together.

He has also claimed that senior figures at ITV knew “what sort of man he [Schofield] was.”

Last week, Schofield admitted to lying about an “unwise, but not illegal” affair with a young male colleague on This Morning.

The Mail on Sunday reported that Schofield first met the younger ITV colleague whom he later had an affair with when he was aged 15.

After the presenter gave a talk at the boy’s school, the youngster is said to have asked Schofield for a job in TV, which led to him getting an interview and eventually a role as an ITV production assistant when he turned 18.

The MailOnline reports that the affair between the two started shortly afterwards, when the veteran TV presenter was in his early 50s and still married to Lowe.

Lawyers representing Schofield have confirmed they met when the boy was 15, but said the affair began after he started working at ITV, and the man’s lawyers have also said that it started after he joined the broadcaster.
