Eagles of Death Metal set aside acute anxieties and fears to return to Paris and finish their gig that three months ago saw terrorists open fire on their fans.

Returning with Josh Homme, the group took to the stage at the Olympia Theatre in the French capital to resume the show they were playing at the Bataclan concert hall when extremist gunmen killed 90 people.

On their return, frontman Jesse Hughes told the hall of the brave survivors: “Bonsoir Paris, we’re ready for this!” Later in the gig, he shouted: “Peace, love and rock and roll!”

The Bataclan has been closed since the tragic events, and there was an increased security presence for their gig at the Olympia.

Ahead of the gig, Jesse broke down in tears during an interview on French news TV news channel iTELE.

He said: “There’s been just such an outpouring of support for us and love for us. It’s overwhelming.

“I just don’t want to let anyone down. I don’t know why God picked us to be the band.”
