All is not as it seems.
With the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here final taking place later this evening, we’ve realised that not everyone is aware of an interesting little fact concerning the iconic jungle camp.
This year’s final has come down to three very different individuals – McFly star Danny Jones, Coleen Rooney of ‘Wagatha Christie’ fame, and pop star-turned-priest Reverend Richard Coles.
After three weeks of bushtucker trials and hilarious moments, the king or queen of the jungle for 2024 will officially be crowned later tonight.
Year after year though, there’s one particular detail about the show that has left fans shocked, and that is the existence of a ceiling.
With monsoon rain and thunderstorms visiting the Aussie outback in recent weeks, the campmates enjoyed some protection from the elements thanks to a sneaky little trick that the showrunners do their best to keep hidden from viewers.
Instead of it being an actual ‘bare necessities’ jungle, it is in fact a set within the rainforest with a secret roof to allow the celebrities to shelter from the rain.
The terrain itself in which the show is set is described as a “lowland subtropical rainforest” and, as well as keeping the campmates safe, the constructed cover also helps to keep all of the expensive equipment dry.
Some eagle-eyed viewers have in fact noticed the canopy roof being lowered when campmates receive their stars for completing bush tucker trials. To those few we say, bravo.

One insider told the MailOnline: “A lot of the camp is not under shelter – it’s not like the roof at Wimbledon.”
Former campmate Alison Hammond also recalled her experience in the jungle on the Saving Grace podcast, explaining that sunbathing is not an option.
She said: “There’s trees everywhere and also they’ve got this canopy for lighting.
“You feel like you’re on a camping film set but you can’t see the cameras.”
Tonight’s final airs on ITV1 at 9pm.
