Tom Hardy has smashed a lot of things in his career; Batman as Bane, prison guards as Bronson, cars in Mad Max, brother Reggie Kray in Legend.

So when he says he would 'smash' playing James Bond, we've got to start taking his word for it. When quizzed about the famous  spy, the actor says if he was given the chance he would “smash it out of the park”. The actor, 38, is the current bookies’ favourite to replace Daniel Craig ahead of Idris Elba should Spectre be his last outing as 007. craig Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: "I would love to do it. Who wouldn’t? If I did get the chance, I would smash it out the park." But he thinks spy hopefuls like him will have to wait a little longer. "I believe Daniel will do one more.
