Our TV movie pick for tonight (Tuesday, 16 July) is The Thomas Crown Affair, the 1999 classic heist film starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
A remake of a '60s movie, which starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, the reimagining sees Brosnan play the titular bored billionaire who decides to entertain himself by stealing a Monet painting from a reputed museum.
"When Catherine Banning (Russo), an investigator for the museum's insurance company, takes an interest in Crown, a complicated back-and-forth game with romantic undertones begins between them," the plot synopsis reads.
Directed by John McTiernan of Die Hard and Predator fame, the 1999 version of the story was a box office hit and was received pretty favourably by critics - with the stylish filmmaking and Brosnan and Russo's chemistry being singled out for praise.
In fact, many even consider the remake superior to the original.
The Thomas Crown Affair is airing on TV tonight on ITV4 at 9pm. It is also available to rent on Apple TV, Rakuten TV and the Sky Store.
