The nerve-shredding ‘It Comes At Night’ is shaping up to be the best horror of the summer

Paul Moore

100% on Rotten Tomatoes already.

While we’re desperate to avoid any Freddy vs Jason or Alien vs Predator type scenario, we do wonder what a horrific smackdown of all the famous horror franchises from 2017 would look like.

Who wouldn’t love to see Pennywise from IT, the Xenomorph in Alien: Covenant and The Mummy squaring off against each other?

Well, if you’re not interested in those ghoulish delights and prefer your horror with a large dose of realism, It Comes at Night looks absolutely perfect for you.

We’ve been keeping our eye on Trey Edward Shults’ film for a while now because the first trailer was an absolute doozy that was incredibly ominous, sinister and tense.

The film has already been screened at various festivals and earned massive praise. Time Out gave it five stars and said that it’s a “nerve-shredding domestic thriller” while Uproxx called it an “unnerving, masterful piece of horror filmmaking, creating a sense of suspense about what’s out in the woods.”

In fact, the film currently has an 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and we’re desperate to see why.

The latest trailer has just been released and It Comes At Night definitely has all the ingredients to be one of the breakout films of the summer.

Plot’s it all about?: Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, a man has established a tenuous domestic order with his wife and son, but this will soon be put to test when a desperate young family arrives seeking refuge.
