The nation’s favourite Friends character has been revealed

You might not be pleased.

It’s a debate we have all had, whether sat in the pub or on the sofa, shouting at your mates about the underlying virtues of Ross whilst denouncing Joey as a cheap laughs merchant.

Friends has finally arrived on Netflix in the UK and with it has come a YouGov poll which has decided, once and for all, who Britain’s favourite character is.

As well as general popularity, YouGov asked Britons to choose which ‘Friend’ was the most attractive, most annoying, most fun, most dateable and nicest.

According to the results of the Phoebe is the nicest, Chandler the funniest, Rachel the most attractive, Joey the most fun, Ross the most annoying and Monica ‘the least nice’.

Which I probably could have told you before you had asked a thousand people.

In terms of overall popularity, however, the results were pretty close.

It was Chandler Bing who came out on top though, with 20% of the vote, closely followed by Joey Tribbiani on 17%.

Phoebe and Rachel finished in third and fourth with 15% and 13% respectively, whilst the Geller siblings brought up the rear, with Monica finishing last with a lowly 5%.

Ross, surprisingly, didn’t fare much better with only 6% of votes cast.

It appears the nation can’t get enough of the ‘Chan Chan Man’, whose personal highlights on the show include doing an extremely drunk-Dad-at-a-wedding dance on a coffee table and having a bubblebath with a toy battleship.

It’s pretty clear why we like him so much.
