The gory trailer for one of the “greatest zombie movies ever made” looks excellent

Paul Moore

A treat for zombie fans.

With Stephen King’s IT and It Comes at Night already shaping up to scare the living crap out of film fans this summer, it’s clear that horror fans will be enjoying plenty of terrifying treats in the coming months.

This being said, there are always a few hidden gems that creep up out of nowhere and take a massive bite out of the box-office.

Last year, zombie lovers were treated to two excellent films in Train to Busan and The Girl With All The Gifts, but the sub-genre looks set to have a new cult-classic with It Stains the Sands Red.

Colin Minihan’s film has already screened in various festivals and it’s earning some very impressive reviews. Ok, what’s it about?

In the throes of a zombie apocalypse, Molly, a troubled woman from Las Vegas, finds herself stranded in the desert with a lone ravenous zombie on her trail. At first, she’s easily able to outpace her undead pursuer, but things quickly become a nightmare when she realizes the zombie doesn’t need to ever stop and rest. Running low on supplies and beat down by the harsh environment, Molly will have to summon the strength she never knew she had to ultimately face both the zombie and the demons that have chased her all her life.

The select bunch of people that have already seen the film are firmly of the opinion that zombie fans will love it.

In their review, HeyUGuys stated that “ISTSR is thrilling, fascinating, groundbreaking and deserves a wider audience than its marketing might find it. It’s a remarkable work for film fans in general, as well as being one of the greatest zombie movies ever made.”

As of yet, no official release date has been provided but we’re excited to see this one when it comes out.

Here’s a look.
