We seen the new screens. We’ve read about the new features. We even went behind the scenes to check out the new “Journey Mode”, but this is it, the first sign that FIFA 17 is nearly here.

This week saw EA Sports release the first official gameplay trailer for FIFA 17 at Gamescom in Germany and the new game is looking the dog’s dangly bits.

Thanks to EA’s Frostbite engine, FIFA 17 looks a different experience compared to previous efforts, building a new game from the ground up rather than making some small tweaks in the name of smoother performance.

Players look different, new character animations offer greater control and freedom on the pitch, and now there are managers, giving the whole thing a more immersive experience.

In among the new FIFA 17 news, EA also unveiled a trailer called “FUT Champions”, to show off some of the new things coming to FIFA Ultimate Team.

You may want clear your September schedule for this…

Ultimate Team will now introduce squad building challenges that will allow players to use club items to get rewards, while Champions will serve as a daily knockout tournament, with in-game rewards to be won.

It’s all shaping up to be a great experience. Count us excited for FIFA 17’s release on September 29.
