The Capture - one of the best thriller shows in recent years - has just been added to Netflix.
Created by Ben Chanan, the series launched in 2019 on the BBC and revolves around an ambitious young detective Rachel Carey (Holiday Grainger) as she enters "the terrifying world of deepfake technology" and "the fabric of reality starts to fray".
Each season sees Carey investigating a different conspiracy. The first involved a former British soldier (Callum Turner) and the second centred around a rising politician (Paapa Essiedu).
Over its two seasons, The Capture boasted an impressive cast - including Andy Nyman, Barry Ward, Ben Miles, Charlie Murphy, Famke Janssen, Indira Varma, Laura Haddock, Paul Ritter, Ralph Ineson, Rob Yang and Ron Perlman.
Praised for how it blends real-world issues with twisty thrills, The Capture's two seasons hold an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 96%.
You can read a sample of some positive reviews for the show's first season right here:
Boston Globe: "The Capture is frightening, a little brainy, and damning of those who refuse to recognise deepfakery for the crisis it has become."
Chicago Sun-Times: "This is a great-looking, well-paced, timely thriller, with excellent work by Turner, Haddock and Grainger, and scene-grabbing supporting work from Ron Perlman and Famke Janssen."
Paste Magazine: "This thoughtful but still thrilling series is a worthwhile watch that may leave you a little shaken, wanting to make sure your computer cameras are covered … just in case."
Time Magazine: "This is the rare thriller that is not just smart and gripping, but also deeply engaged with our bizarre, often terrifying present."
TV Insider: "A terrifically twisty and intensely suspenseful six-part spy thriller."
Earlier this week, we reported that The Capture is said to be returning for a third batch of episodes - nearly three years after season two.
According to TV Zone, the publication has seen listings that suggest that production on the third season will commence this spring.
It's worth noting, however, that the BBC has yet to confirm this.
