Star Wars sends Marvel a clever congratulations note on their incredible box office success

Avengers: Infinity War had the biggest opening weekend in history.

Don’t worry, there’s no spoilers here!

You might have noticed there’s a big superhero movie at the moment. Something that has “Avengers” and “War” and maybe “Infinity” in the title.

You might also have noticed that that movie has taken an absolutely shit-ton of money at the box office. $640.9 million globally so far, breaking records across the board. It took an estimated $250 million in the opening weekend in North America alone, edging over the previous record of held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens at $248 million.

But Star Wars is not a sore loser. Ok, ‘Star Wars’ is not actually a person, but Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy is, and the official Star Wars Twitter account shared this note ‘signed’ by her (ok, it’s a fake handwriting font, but the thought is still there).

This isn’t the first time a filmmaker has done it – Steven Spielberg once sent a letter to George Lucas, and Marvel themselves congratulated Jurassic World‘s success.
