Cultural behemoth Stan Lee has died aged 95.

The creator of some of the world’s most-beloved comic book characters passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

However, Avengers 4 co-director Joe Russo confirmed that Lee already shot his cameo in the film in an interview with BBC Scotland: “He doesn’t love to fly, so typically we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time.

“So if we have other movies shooting on the same lot that we’re on, for instance Ant-Man 2 or Avengers 4, we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and kind of get him through his cameos in one day.”

Lee began his career in the comic book business in 1939, before revolutionising the industry by creating The Fantastic Four with Jack Kirby in 1961. He is credited or co-credited with creating such famous superheroes as Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk and Daredevil.

He stepped away from comic book writing in 1972 to focus on publishing.

The comic book legend, whose wife of 69 years passed away in 2017, is survived by his daughter JC, who told TMZ: “My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man.”

A legend and visionary in the comic book industry, Lee had in recent years been a regular on the big screen due to his consistent cameos in Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Expect an emotional response in your cinema during Avengers 4, which is due to be released in May 2019.
