The TV presenter and Premier League commentator found love again and tied the knot this past weekend
Simon Thomas – former Blue Peter presenter and familiar voice of the Premier League for Sky Sports – has married his girlfriend, Derrina Jebb, in a ceremony at Norwich Cathedral this weekend.
Thomas stepped away from his television work after the tragic death of his first wife, Gemma, who died following a battle with leukaemia back in 2017. Aged just 40 when she passed, they were married for 12 years and had a seven-year-old son at the time.
We spoke to him not long after he published his book on the ordeal, Love, Interrupted: Navigating Grief One Day at a Time, in which, he was just as eloquent in person as he was on paper and has always been on camera.

Jebb, 30, looks stunning in these pictures, as does Thomas, who you can’t help but be bowled over for having been able to find that kind of connection again.
As well as plenty of wedding photos, Thomas posted a wonderful tribute to his new bride, speaking of how touched he is by her relationship with his 11-year-old son, Ethan. Really moving stuff.

The pair started seeing each other around a year after Gemma’s passing. Speaking BBC Radio 5 Live, he described her as an “amazing woman who has stood shoulder to shoulder with me in some of my darkest hours and has become a rock not just for me, but for my boy, too.”
He also paid special thanks to his Ethan, who was the best man on the day, for giving an unforgettable speech. So many feels right now – how special it must have been to have your little lad take on that honour.

Four years on from what we can only imagine must be the most difficult thing in the world, Thomas looks to have found happiness again.
Not only did he make his return to sports broadcasting, commentating for Amazon Prime Video when the Premier League was still being played behind closed doors but, most importantly, he has found someone new to share his life with.
We wish him all the best in the world and can only echo his sentiment: “Love. Wins”. Always
