Pokemon Go players ignore Justin Bieber as they rush to catch a Gyarados
Justin Bieber is one of the biggest musicians in the world right now, but in the world of Pokemon he's a goddamn nobody.
If you've somehow managed to avoid the sensation that if Pokemon Go, we're not quite sure what to tell you.
It's completely taken over everything in the lull between the end of Euro 2016 and the beginning of the new Premier League season. People are getting fit off it, and making new friends depending on which team they choose.
In case you're wondering how seriously everyone is taking it, two people have actually walked off a cliff while playing.
So it's no surprise to see someone like Justin Bieber getting in on the action - and he get a first-hand demonstration of just how big the game is when a group of players in New York City completely ignored him in pursuit of a Gyarados.
According to a Reddit user with the ever-reliable username of stalkertuesday, Bieber rolled up with his bodyguards in a popular area for Pokemon Go users just by Central Park in Manhattan after a Gyarados was spotted nearby.
'[Bieber] was hanging near a popular Pokemon Go spot in Central Park, when a Gyarados spawned near the Apple Store right off the Park. Cue crowd of 300 people running to the Apple Store.
'Everyone is so engrossed in catching the big guy, no one notices when a black car pulls up and Justin Beiber [sic] + 6 body guards roll out so JB can join in the hunt.
'Statistically there had to be at least a couple huge Bieber fans in the crowd.
'But listen: priorities. There are things more important than pop stars.
'And those things are Pokemon :)
'Good night and happy hunting.'
Glad to see he's one of us.
