Being President is a tough job, so even Donald Trump needs to kick back and relax… whether there’s a crisis going on or not.
But anyway, enough about the anti-Muslim executive orders and mass protests going on around the world; it’s time for The Donald to chill out with a movie.
It’s been well-documented that one of Trump’s favourite movies is the 1998 martial arts classic Bloodsport starring Jean-Claude Van Dame, but that perhaps wouldn’t be appropriate for a White House movie night.
Instead, the President held a screening of the recent Pixar movie Finding Dory.
It’s a great movie, perfect to watch with his 10-year-old son Barron, but when the world is in a state of fear and fury over an executive order banning immigrants and refugees from predominantly Muslim countries, is it really time for a film?

But quite apart from the fact that the Leader of the Free (and Very Pissed Off) World was fannying around hosting movie night when legal US residents were being detained at airports and kept from their loved ones because of their origin of birth, there was a dash of irony in the choice of Finding Dory that perhaps wasn’t evident to Trump and his team.

Perhaps Bloodsport would have been a more appropriate choice of film. Give it a few more years in office and we’re sure it will be.
