Had to double-take for a minute there
Leeds striker
Patrick Bamford has revealed that he was offered the chance to go on
Love Island this year. Casa Amor, or watch the boys make it all the way to the final of the
Euros? Sure it was a tough call.
In an interview with
Saturday Social's Joe Thomlinson, the 28-year-old English forward - who is just coming off the back of his first senior international call up - talked all things football, musical instruments and education, saying that he could have gone to Harvard Business School if football didn't work out.
Nevertheless, the mere notion of him potentially being on this year's
Love Island is almost too much to comprehend. You can see the full interview down below.

As Bamford explains, a late-night phone call from a withheld number was what sparked the bizarre proposal and after admitting that the hit ITV dating show is a bit of a guilty pleasure amongst many of the Leeds players, he decided to entertain the call for a minute.
Perhaps most staggeringly, after Bamford joked that his "girlfriend wouldn't be too happy", the anonymous rep then asked if she would be interested in going on the show instead. Despite having played along with it for a bit up until this point, he said the discussion became "a bit silly" from this point onwards.
Alas, we were robbed of Patrick, 28, walking into the Villa like the second coming of
Dr Alex and catching everyone off-guard. We're just glad he was freed up to watch
England give us a special summer.
