Leeds United have been unsuccessful in their appeal against Pascal Struijk's red card for a tackle that saw Harvey Elliott stretchered off the pitch with a dislocated ankle and requiring surgery.
A statement on the club website states: "Ban upheld. We can confirm that our appeal against Pascal Struijk’s red card has been unsuccessful.
"Pascal will miss our next three games against Newcastle United, Fulham (Carabao Cup) and West Ham United.
"We will make no further comment at this time."
This comes despite Elliott himself saying on social media that the tackle was 'never a red', but 'just a freak accident.'
After suffering the injury, Elliott shared this message of thanks to fans of both clubs who showed him support at the time of the unfortunate injury.
