I hope, I think, I know the rumours are true…
It is the news that currently has the UK, and much of the world, in a firm vice-like grip that Oasis might, just might be, finally getting the band back together again.
In recent days we have had cryptic tweets, newspaper exclusives and an official date for a big announcement set to come tomorrow morning.
Oasis fans everywhere are convinced of the same outcome, however, the more paranoid followers of the Gallagher brothers and their band have spotted a major concern that could turn tomorrow morning’s announcement on its head.
Keen fans of the Manchester band have noted that this week will see unreleased, secret versions of songs from Oasis’ debut album Definitely Maybe being released as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.
This includes recordings of iconic tunes such as Live Forever, Cigarettes & Alcohol and Rock ‘n’ Roll Star that were originally recorded in Monnow Valley Studios in south Wales.
Many have suggested this could be the big announcement that the brothers have in store.
Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss their fears over what could be the greatest marketing heist of all time from the band.
One user wrote: “They’re releasing a new album of secret Definitely Maybe recordings on Tue at 8am and continue to refuse to talk to each other.”
Another person said: “Definitely Maybe’s lost recordings is already announced for release on Friday.”
One user put: “All 3… I am gonna be realistic though. The thirtieth anniversary of Definitely Maybe is coming up and they are gonna release essentially a full album of demo recordings never heard before in regard to the debut album. Either way, VERY cool stuff!!!”
While one person joked: “Hopefully another Definitely Maybe 30th anniversary rerelease!”

This past week marked 15 years since one of Britain’s most-loved bands performed their last show at V Festival in Staffordshire as part of their Dig Out Your Soul Tour in August 2009.
The band official split up at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris where thousands attended a gig that never happened, as Noel walked out on the band after a backstage bust-up with his brother, Liam.
The Times reported yesterday (24 Aug) that music industry insiders have informed them that plans are being made for the Manchester band to perform once again with multiple dates planned at Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium.
With the latter reportedly booked for ten nights, meaning the eight-gig record set by Taylor Swift this year will survive a mere 12 months.
Both brothers have posted announcement dates to their social media, along with the band’s official account after the same announcement appeared following a Blossoms concert last night in Manchester.
Here’s hoping tomorrow at 8am it really could be morning glory for the iconic band and its fans.
