New Game of Thrones footage teases the biggest battle in the show’s history

Paul Moore

It’s set to top the Battle of the Bastards. Hell yes!

Be honest. Can you honestly say that you’ve seen a film in the last five years that managed to top certain Game of Thrones episodes in terms of spectacle, action, drama and cinematography?

It’s likely that your answer is no.

Blackwater, Hardhome, The Watchers on the Wall and arguably the finest episode of TV that was ever made, Battle of the Bastards, are just a few examples of how Game of Thrones has managed to topple Hollywood, but now that winter is here, things are going to heat up.

With Season 7 set to premiere in less than a month, we’re absolutely pumped to see what the Benioff and Weiss have in store because every season has upped the ante in terms of its production values. the show is now entering its endgame and with only 15 episodes left, we still have no idea who’s going to sit on the Iron Throne.

Well, things should become clearer this season because as we pointed out earlier, it appears that Daenerys and her army of Unsullied are going to strike at the heart of House Lannister, Casterly Rock.

A few months ago, various reports emerged stating that one battle required 100 horses and and 500 extras—who all underwent military training— to film an epic battle scene.

Given that the Battle of the Bastards only used 70 horses and 500 extras, we’re set for the biggest skirmish in the show’s history.

Also, given that fact that we’ve already seen Daenerys’ riding on top of her dragon, it’s fair to say that the Targaryen heir will be right in the middle of the action.

Game of Thrones Season 7 arrives July 16.

We can’t wait!
