Netflix is about to remove a British true crime drama series that has left viewers in tears.
Titled Honour, it tells the true story of the 2006 murder of Banaz Mahmod, a 20-year-old Iraqi Kurdish woman from Mitcham in South London.
The young woman was murdered on the orders of her family in a so-called "honour killing". This was after she decided to leave her arranged marriage to start a relationship of her own choosing.
The ITV drama was originally released in 2020 and was added to Netflix in July 2024.
Many Netflix viewers took to social media at the time to express their anger and sadness at what happened to Banaz.
In Honour, actress Buket Kömür (Generation Z) plays Banaz, while Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard) portrays Detective Chief Inspector Caroline Goode, the real-life woman who led the Metropolitan Police Homicide and Serious Crime Command team in the investigation into the killing.

The two-part series has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
You can read a sample of several reviews for the show below:
The Guardian: "Honour possesses a quiet authenticity that comes partly from Hawes - her performance is a study in controlled anguish - and partly from the way it was brought to television."
The Mail on Sunday (UK): "If it touches one police officer who will act differently in future, or one young woman who realises she does not have to live in terror of her father, her uncle, her cousins, it has to be worth it. Doesn't it?"
Sunday Times (UK): "There was a sensational turn by Rhianne Barreto as Banaz's elder sister, Bekhal."
When users go to watch Honour on Netflix in the UK and Ireland, a message now reads: "Last day to watch on Netflix: 30 June."
The series is also available to stream on ITVX.
