Mark Wahlberg took to social media to show fans his new 'dad bod' after putting on weight ahead of his role in the upcoming film, Father Stu. The 49-year-old American actor has reportedly put on approximately 30 pounds for the new film. He took to Instagram yesterday to show fans a sneak preview of his new 'dad bod.' https://www.instagram.com/p/CObTGQcrqb3/ Wahlberg said that his weight gain, which is centred around preparing for a new role, is all down to his private chef. In the caption, the actor said: "From left photo 3 weeks ago to this, now. Thanks to @chef_lawrence_d cooking." Wahlberg previously said that he planned to gain around 30 pounds in 6 weeks for his future role in Father Stu. Speaking recently on the US chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wahlberg said: "I want to go bakeries. I want to go to Denny’s. I want to get pancakes. I want to get everything I can possibly get my hands on." Commenting on Wahlberg's Instagram post, his wife, Rhea, said: "And it looks just as hot in person baby." Fellow actor Mario Lopez commented on the picture, saying: "Yo. You wear mad chubby well homie!" Wahlberg gave fans a glimpse at his weight training in a recent Instagram post, explaining that Kenny has lost weight whilst he has focused on gaining weight. He said: "Kenny’s down 50 and I’m up about 20. Inspired to be better! I’m going up another 20.
