Man United’s latest movie trailer has prompted a familiar reaction from fans

Not for the first time in recent months, Manchester United are using their considerable global reach to help promote a new Hollywood film.

Having mistakenly believed that the bizarre penalty shootout scene that was used to promote Deadpool was a one off, we've seen United's players star in some equally cringeworthy trailers in the time since. To help boost the new Assassin's Creed movie, United's Twitter account have sent out their latest promotional video. Disappointingly, there's not a hint of Wayne Rooney acting to be seen this time around. Instead, playing on the line 'History is in our blood',  the minute and a half long clip consists of a mashup of footage of United stars past and present interspersed with clips of Michael Fassbender and his co-stars in the new film. Stirring music accompanies this, with a narrator reeling off a few lines that are supposed to represent both the United players and the storyline of the new film.
