As for Brendan Dassey, the US Supreme Court has denied his petition for a writ of certiorari, thereby declining to hear his case and leaving the en banc decision of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals to stand.
Of course, the situation could change and should that happen, Demos and Ricciardi haven't ruled out the possibility of returning to document the case with Making A Murderer: Part 3. During an interview with JOE, the filmmakers said that they have thought about returning. "We've certainly thought about it but we'll have to wait and see," said Demos. "Of course, life continues and the story continues because this is real life but we have to figure out what's happening. Can we get access? Most importantly, does it have something new to add? We were very confident that Part Two did have a lot of new things to add and a lot of things that viewers would want. We'll have to answer those questions before we take the plunge." At present, nothing official has been announced regarding any new episodes of the documentary.Explore more on these topics:
