Katie Hopkins axed from her radio job at LBC ‘effective immediately’

Her departure comes after pressure on the radio station following Hopkins' 'final solution' tweet

Katie Hopkins and LBC have “agreed” that the divisive broadcaster and commentator will leave the radio station “effective immediately”.

The move comes after a tweet in which Hopkins called for a ‘final solution’ in relation to the Manchester Arena attack drew heated criticism and put pressure on her employer LBC, where she hosted a Sunday morning talk show.

After facing widespread condemnation, Hopkins deleted the tweet, claiming that she meant to call for a “true” solution. Her original tweet had been reported to the police.

Hopkins is also a columnist for Mail Online, who were forced to pay £150,000 to a Muslim family whom Hopkins had incorrectly accused of extremist links. She was also made to pay £24,000 in damages and £107,000 in legal costs to writer Jack Monroe over defamatory remarks.
