John Boyega shut down a troll who told him to ‘stay out of American politics’

Force BLOCK.

John Boyega is a pretty cool dude.

He’s only 24-years-old and he’s already become the new face of one of the most popular movie franchises in the world thanks to his portrayal of Finn in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens last year.

We’re big fans of him off the screen too. We were lucky enough to meet the actor ahead of the release of The Force Awakens last year, and since then he’s only done more to win us over.

Although the latest trailer for the new Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, dropped yesterday, Boyega’s attention is firmly on the goings on across the pond in America where Donald Trump is still battling away in the hopes of becoming president.

The former stock image model shared a clip from the new Netflix documentary 13th which compares Trump’s rhetoric of today with that of anti-black leaders throughout America’s troubled history.

It is a bold (and admirable) stance for Boyega to take, given his position within such a huge movie franchise run by a company like Disney, where you would normally expect the stars to avoid controversy at all costs.

It’s also his role and public visibility that makes his stand so important, as he is able to reach an audience far larger than the average person.

But whenever a famous person who is known for non-political reasons attempts to express a political opinion, they are inevitably told to stick to whatever that one thing they are known for is.

Of course, at this stage, Boyega had run out of fucks to give.

Rather than just ignoring the person (who, based on their Twitter profile, appears to be a Trump supporter), the Star Wars actor had a pretty comprehensive response.

It will come as absolutely no surprise to learn that his fans loved it.
