John Boyega reveals what it’s really like to control a lightsaber

John Boyega got very protective over his lightsaber on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.
Well you would, wouldn't you. The British actor, who plays new hero Finn in the next instalment of the franchise, confessed he was so excited about receiving his own Jedi weapon that he wouldn't let anyone else touch it. He said: "Man, the lightsaber came in this case. The guys brought it out and I'm like, 'Now's the moment, now's the time'.
"I held it in my hand and I just felt, you know, the clouds open up and the white doves come flying down. It feels very, very good. I hugged it for the whole day. I didn't allow anyone to hold it but me."
The star admitted he's still trying to convince director J.J. Abrams to let him take the prop home.
Asked if he got to keep it, John told Empire magazine: "No, but we're working on that..."
