Something everyone will be talking about…

This year Activision and Infinity Ward are taking the world’s most popular shooter straight into space, with Kit Harington, Conor McGregor and Lewis Hamilton all along for the journey for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

The set-piece-packed campaign sees the player take control of Nick Reyes, Captain of one of Earth’s last remaining vessels, the Retribution. In Infinite Warfare’s futuristic fiction, Reyes and the United Nations Space Alliance (UNSA) are at war with a group of militant extremists called the Settlement Defense Force (SDF), with the future of our home planet at stake.

And then there’s the series’ legendary multiplayer mode, which is certain to keep you going well into next year.

Call of Duty: Infinite War is out November 4 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4

Something that’ll make you (seem) cooler…

As part of their ongoing relationship with Manchester United, adidas have released the Ashington in their Originals line.

The Ashington is named after the hometown of Sir Bobby Charlton, as The Brand With The 3 Stripes celebrates 60 years since the England and United legend made his Old Trafford debut.

Predictably the whole lot sold out in no time at all at the tail end of last week, but collectors will no doubt be keeping a keen eye on eBay.

Something you should listen to this week…

elections-podcast

With just over a week left until arguably the most important Presidential election in recent history, you’re going to want to keep up to date with every late twist and turn.

There are loads of great podcasts out there, but for our money FiveThirtyEight’s is one of the best; informative and entertaining in equal measure.

Listen to every episode here.

Something that’ll change your life…

If you haven’t heard of Duolingo, it’s a wonderfully streamlined (and free) language-learning app that teaches its users in interactive, bite-size lessons.

With 150 million people now using the app, they’ve recently added three chatbots, essentially tutors that won’t judge you if you’re rubbish.

For English-speaking people learning French, Spanish or German on an iOS device, the chatbots reckon they can get throwing out phrases like a pro in no time.

Download Duolingo here.

Something that’ll make you seem clever in the group chat…

dom

Did you know that when you call in a Domino’s delivery the person taking the order can see your entire order history? How about the fact that once you go over four toppings (don’t do this, fool) you get less of each topping on your pizza?

JOE staff writer Kevin Beirne used to work for the fast food giant, so we got him to pass on all his insider secrets.

Something we highly recommend…

shining

Done all your Halloween partying over the weekend? You’re not the only one. But seeing as there’s still one more night of spooky season remaining, we’ve rounded up some of the best horror films to get cracking on with.

There’s something for all the family: supernatural spirits, evil monsters, murderous rampages and gore galore.

Have a read.
