Jimmy Carr returns to Netflix with brand new stand-up special

The controversial comedian is back

Jimmy Carr is returning to Netflix later this year with his new stand-up special.

Jimmy Carr: Natural Born Killer will land on the streaming platform on April 16, and you can watch a teaser for the special below.

It will be Carr’s third Netflix special and his first since 2021 when he released His Dark Material on the platform.

The hour-long special sparked controversy for a joke the comic made about the gypsy and traveller communities.

In the show, the 49-year-old comedian began speaking about the horrors the Holocaust – an event which saw “six million Jewish lives being lost,” he explained. The 8 Out of 10 Cats host then continued to the joke’s punchline, which took aim at gypsies and those in the traveller community that also lost their lives at the hands of the Nazis.

The joke sparked widespread condemnation, including from politicians such as Nadine Dorries and Sajid Javid.

And it seems like the fallout has inspired Carr to double-down on his controversy, with the teaser for Natural Born Killer seeing the comedian discuss what he’s going to do next time he’s “cancelled.”

He says in the clip: “You can’t go around apologising for jokes, they’re jokes! So I’ve got a plan.

“The next time I get cancelled over a joke, the next time I upset people over a joke, I’m going to come out on the day of the cancellation and I’m going to make a public statement.”

He then sarcastically says “I’m sorry.”

Carr continues: “The people that I’ve offended will say ‘you don’t really mean that apology.’

“And I’ll say: ‘So you’re saying I could say something and not mean it? Now you’re getting it!'”

Jimmy Carr: Natural Born Killer will be available to stream on Netflix in the UK and Ireland from April 16.
