James Corden labels Pierce Brosnan 'f***ing rude' after he was pushed by actor

‘Literally, I’ve never felt anything like it’

A clip has resurfaced online in which James Corden suggests that Pierce Brosnan is “f***ing rude.”

In the last month, Corden has been at the center of drama between himself and a New York restaurant named Balthazar.

Earlier this month, restaurateur Keith McNally banned Corden and called him a ‘tiny cretin of a man’ over his alleged treatment of staff members at the eatery.

He later revoked the ban, revealing that the Gavin and Stacey star had apologised to him, but the story hasn’t done much for Corden’s popularity.

Following footage of the host struggling to remember the names of any of the cameramen on the Late Late Show, another clip has now emerged in which he takes aim at former Bond, Pierce Brosnan.

During the ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ truth or dare segment, Corden was asked by guest Khloe Kardashian to name a celebrity who had been rude to him at a party.

Though he was initially hesitant to answer the question, the alternative option was to drink a glass of bird saliva – so he decided to reveal all.

“There was someone,” he said, before admitting that they might want to book them on the show in the near future.

Eventually he spills the beans, claiming it was Brosnan.

Corden said: “I don’t think he’s a rude man, he just happened to be [to me]. I went to see U2 and I was there with my friend Louis and his wife, and my wife, and Pierce Brosnan was with some friends.

“They left halfway through the gig to go off, and we left the space [for them]. And then they had been gone quite a long time and Bono was like right there on this sort of big runway in the middle of the show – it was at The Forum.

“So me and my wife moved into this area, and literally, I’ve never felt anything like it, this arm went on here and just pushed me out the way.

“And I looked at him and he didn’t even glance at me, he just moved back into his area.”

Khloe chimed in to suggest that Brosnan may have been “drunk,” to which Corden replied: “Maybe he’s just a bit f***ing rude.”

Corden addressed the controversy of recent weeks on Tuesday’s edition of the Late Late Show, admitting that he was “rude” and “ungracious” to staff at the restaurant.

He told viewers: “Things are going to get written about me. ‘Never Complain, Never Explain’ is very much my motto. But as my Dad pointed out to me on Saturday, he said ‘Son, well you did complain, so you might need to explain.’

“Look when you make a mistake you’ve got to take responsibility, so I thought I would share with you what happened.

“A couple of weeks ago, I was in New York with some friends, and we went for breakfast at one of my absolute favourite restaurants. It’s a place called Balthazar. And I genuinely love it there. I love the food, the vibe, the service.”

He explained that his wife has a serious food allergy and had been given food that she was allergic to.

“But she hadn’t taken a bite of it or anything, no worries – we sent it back. All was good,” he continued.

“As her meal came wrong to the table the third time – in the heat of the moment, I made a sarcastic, rude comment about cooking it myself, and it is a comment I deeply regret.

“I understand the difficulties of being a server. I worked shifts at restaurants for years. I have such respect and I value anyone that does such a job. And the team at that restaurant are so great – that’s why I love it there. The restaurant manager and the server, they were lovely.

“But here’s the truth of it. Because I didn’t shout, or scream – I didn’t get up out of my seat, I didn’t call anyone names or use derogatory language – I’ve been walking around thinking I hadn’t done anything wrong… right?

“But the truth is I have. I made a rude comment, and it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment. It was ungracious to the server.”

He added that he had phoned up to apologise to the restaurateur and hoped to apologise to the servers in person.

He said: “I love that restaurant. I love the staff there. I hope I am allowed in again one day, so when I’m back in New York I can go there and apologise in person – which is something I will absolutely do.”
