This year I’m A Celebrity contestants are reportedly fighting over luxury items to take into camp – with some treats banned from the jungle.

Typically, the celebs need to earn their luxury items the hard way – through camp games – but ITV has revealed they don’t let participants have the same requests, otherwise the camp would be filled with the same items.

Executive producer Olly Nash said negotiations around the items are still ongoing, despite the show starting Sunday.

He explained to The Mirror: “This year like most years they will get an opportunity to win their luxury items, but it depends how well they get on.

“They’re still in negotiation because we try to make sure that not everybody has the same. So we’re still negotiating.”

Speaking about what items were most popular, Nash confirmed the obvious comforts of home – pillows and photos.

But due to the contestants personalities, some of the choices aren’t that obvious.

“Then you get people like Helen Flanagan who asked for fake tan and then when she got It five days in she already had a tan and she ended up with a bright orange face,” Nash said.

“Joey Essex brought in rubber rings to play in the pool. So some people bring in silly stuff.”

Nash also confirmed that some items are prohibited as luxury items. He said: “You wouldn’t have books, you won’t have anything like a game of chess or anything like that.

“So you wouldn’t have anything that could be distracting, part of this game is making sure that you are creating reality and having a chat with other people and doing stuff and dealing with the boredom.”

The year’s contestants include Chris Moyles, Olivia Attwood, Sue Cleaver, Owen Warner, Jill Scott, Charlene White, Babatunde Aléshé, Mike Tindall, Scalette Douglas, Boy George and MP Matt Hancock, who, it was revealed Thursday, is earning £400,000 for appearing on the show.

Before they head into the Australian jungle to rough it for three weeks, the campmates are quarantining in luxury villas.

Moyles has shared a video from the isolation pad, which shows the DJ relaxing in the type of luxury he will soon forget all about.
