Ian Brown hints the Stone Roses tour could include some unusual towns

You’ve got to love Ian Brown. He’s adored around the world and yet remains refreshingly unaffected.

We mean he’s certainly cocky, outspoken and sometimes brash, but that was always the case, even before the Stone Roses made it big. Essentially he’s the same old talented scally from Timperley way.

Ian, John, Mani and Reni are currently resident in London together, supposedly working on a much-anticipated third album (although there’s no confirmation as of yet), and the lead singer was happy to stop and speak to fans and sign prints.

One devotee was filming her encounter and asked about the band’s tour plans, and Brown hinted at some less popular locations following the big sold-out gigs at Etihad Stadium, T In The Park and Marlay Park in Dublin.

“We’d like to play places you’d ‘least like to live’,” said the 53-year-old, referring regular polls that come up now and again “Like Sunderland, Grimsby. But not advertised it as that, know what I mean.”

Such is the renewed popularity of the Roses since their comeback tour in 2012 that it would be great for fans from often neglected cities and towns get to watch the lads on their own patch.

We will of course keep you informed of any official announcements.
