2018 promises to be a remarkable year for film and TV - take a look at our previews here and here - but if you're looking for something to watch while the weather is crap, these TV shows might do the trick. While the rating system of Rotten Tomatoes does have its flaws, the review-aggregator site has become increasingly popular because people want to know if a film/TV show is worth their time and money. With this in mind, the website has revealed the titles that made their 'best of 2017' list and they've subdivided the categories. We're certain that you've seen a lot of the films, but some of the TV shows might have gone under your radar.

Best reviewed TV drama

The Good Fight

Plot: The legal drama series is a spin-off of "The Good Wife" and takes place about a year after that series ended. Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) is pushed out of her law firm when a scam leaves her broke and ruins the reputation of her goddaughter Maia (Rose Leslie). The two women end up joining Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) at a new firm and together they try getting back on their feet. The first season of the show follows Diane and Maia as they rise through the ranks and rebuild their careers, while also trying to solve the mystery of the case that destroyed their professional and personal lives. The series also serves as commentary to America's contemporary political climate, dealing with issues that go from institutional racism to Trump's election. Alias Grace Plot: Based on the award-winning novel by Margaret Atwood and inspired by true events, Alias Grace tells the story of Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon), a young, poor Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada who - along with stable hand James McDermott (Kerr Logan) - finds herself accused and convicted of the infamous 1843 double murder of her employer Thomas Kinnear (Paul Gross), and his housekeeper Nancy Montgomery (Anna Paquin).
