The final Game of Thrones season will be epic.
With only six episodes to go, Game of Thrones is coming to an end but there’s still an awful lot to wrap up.
With this in mind, here are some of the predictions, hopes and theories that we have for the final season.
All of these will ‘definitely’ happen. Cough, cough.
Daenerys will be pregnant
This was heavily foreshadowed in the last few episodes of Season 7. Will there be another Targaryen in the world?
As outlined previously, it’s clear what Jon’s feelings on that matter would be.
The Red Woman
Her conversation with Varys on the cliffs of Dragonstone was very telling. There was something ominous in her line “I have to die in this strange country (Westeros), just like you.”
She’s on Arya’s kill list and Melisandre has even said that their paths will cross again.
“I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes starring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes sealed shut forever. We will meet again,” she said to Arya.
She might have company upon her return
The red priestess has said that she plans on travelling to Volantis – one of the most powerful Free Cities and the home of the Temple Of The Lord Of Light.
In this location, The Lord of Light has an awful of followers and the temple is even protected by a private army of slave soldiers known as the Fiery Hand.
Could they be arriving to fight in The Great War?
Speaking of Arya
Who’s left on her kill list?
That would be Cersei Lannister, The Mountain (good luck with that), Melisandre, Ser Ilyn Payne and Beric Dondarrion.
Maisie Williams has said that all has been forgiven between Arya and The Hound.
“I don’t think there’s any hard feelings anymore. What Arya experienced in Braavos took a far worse toll on her. The feelings she had about The Hound were very immature, and I feel like she’s grown up since then. If they met again, she’d hopefully just be an effective killer with him, rather than against him,” she said.
Remember that Varys was the Master of Whispers for the Mad King and in the season finale, we saw further developments in the Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen plot line.
It’s entirely reasonable to assume that Varys has been holding back some information about their relationship and his time with Daenerys’ father.
In the present, The Spider is still a trusted ally of Dany but his loyalty has been openly questioned.
His importance is vital, especially if we’re going to see…
The tourney at Harrenhal
We’ve discussed this in depth before and it’s definitely worth reading up on.
This meeting was one of the most important events in the timeline of Game of Thrones because it shaped every single event that unfolded in the series.
We’re almost certain to get a flashback of this.

Howland Reed appearing
We’re hoping to get another glimpse at one of the most badass and mysterious characters in Game of Thrones.
In season 7, Meera tells Bran that she’s returning home because she wants to be with her family as the Long Night approaches.
In the novels, we’re told that Howland Reed is a very skilled warrior and we’ve already seen a brief glimpse of his talents during that flashback scene at the Tower Of Joy.
If the army of the dead start roaming the North, expect a fightback from men like Howland Reed.
A treacherous prophecy
We’ve touched on the fact that Daenerys will face three betrayals in her lifetime. It’s widely understod that the Mother of Dragons has already suffered two of them, but one more is coming.
During her vision at the House of the Undying, Dany was told to expect “three treasons will you know, once for blood and once for gold and once for love.”
We’ve mentioned this before, but if this prophecy comes true, who’s going to be the guilty party?
The Hound vs The Mountain.
It has to happen, right? RIGHT!?!?
If so, we reckon The Hound will ultimately use fire to kill his brother. Poetic.
There’s one facet to this showdown that’s also worth noting.
Before he was executed, Ned Stark instructed Beric Dondarrion to take a hundred men, ride to Ser Gregor’s keep and execute The Mountain for treason and murder.
Will Beric finally get to finish the task that was given to him by Ned Stark, or will The Hound deliver the fatal blow?
Did he survive the destruction of the Wall?
As outlined before, we think that both him and Tormund somehow managed to survive the carnage.
After all, Tormund has to make those ‘great big monsters’ with Brienne. Yeah, Game of Thrones is famous for its happy endings.
The Golden Company
We’ve gone into great detail about these mercenaries before, but will Euron manage to make it to Essos and escort them back safely?
Those waters should be tricky to navigate because there’s a certain someone that’s gunning for the King of the Iron Islands.
What is dead may never die
Theon is Iron Born.
Now that he has 20 good men, we’re ready to see Theon obliterate the last remnants of his Reek persona.
Can he rescue Yara from Euron and redeem himself?

Sam will use Heartsbane
Surely he didn’t steal that Valyrian steel sword from his family home for no reason?
Much like his decision to rob those those books and scrolls from the Oldtown library, Sam’s breaking the rules and apologising to nobody.
The Lannisters send their regards
We’ve delved into the valonqar prophecy before but now that Jaime has turned against his sister, his status as the Valonqar (Cersei’s killer) seems more plausible.
This being said, surely Jaime couldn’t turn against the mother of his unborn child?
Jaime has some explaining to do
He may have left King’s Landing but things aren’t going to be easy for the Kingslayer.
Not only was he instrumental in the imprisonment and execution of Ned Stark— the Three-Eyed Raven probably knows all of this – but he will also have to apologise to Daenerys for killing her father.
There’s also another problem.
Jaime has recently tried to kill Dany on the battlefield.
His trip to the North could be very uncomfortable.
Qyburn will get even creepier
Anton Lesser, the man who plays Cersei’s Hand in the show has said: “He definitely has big plans for that wight. That’s where his head is, you know, the world could end in five minutes, but he is absolutely focused on: ‘I have never seen this before, this is amazing I could really do things with this.'”
If Cersei is going to hold onto the Iron Throne, she’s going to need all hands on deck.
Jon rides a dragon
After petting Drogon, surely Jon/Aegon Targaryen will follow in the footsteps of his namesake, Aegon the Conqueror, and ride into battle while flying on top of Rhaegal?
This is pure speculation but Arya might find Littlefinger’s face to be very helpful if she’s trying to get into a room with some of her enemies.
Being ‘no one’ has its advantages.
That letter from Cersei
Jon has informed the ‘acting Lady of Winterfell’ that he has agreed a truce with Cersei. The letter said:
Cersei Lannister has pledged her forces to our cause, as has Daenerys Targaryen. And if we survive this war, I have pledged our forces to Daenerys at the rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. We are both coming to organise the defence of the realm.
Jon Snow. Warden of the North.”
Sansa has previously warned Jon that the Queen can’t be trusted, she was right.
We’re expecting the relationship between Jon and Sansa to get very frayed.
All this without adding another massive problem into the mix…
Dany in the North
Will the Northern lords accept her claim as the rightful Queen of the Seven Kigdoms? Jon may have bent the knee to her but they might be harder to convince.
It’s also worth remembering that Daenerys’ father was pivotal in the execution of Rickard and Brandon Stark. The North remembers.
A Jon and Arya reunion
Bound to happen but we’re more interested in another happy family.
We really hope that the Lady of Bear Island just glowers at Jorah while he begs her for forgiveness.
Dragon vs Dragon
Has to happen.
Mmm, what about making a dragon glass arrow and loading it up on Qyburn’s scorpion crossbow?
If this happens, the Night King better watch where he’s flying.
Despite our love of dragons, only one beast has our heart.
Please bring him back. Just for one scene.
MAKE IT HAPPEN!
WE DEMAND IT!
Between Bran and Sam, surely Jon is about to know something.
That something is that he’s the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Oh yeah, he’s also having sex with his aunt.
Good and bad news then.
We’ve mentioned her backstory before but there are still so many questions.
What were her motivations for running away with a married man? Why didn’t she send a raven to Winterfell? If she did write a scroll and send it Winterfell explaining the whole situation, what happened to it? Did someone take it or sabotage it?
Was this marriage simply a case of Lyanna falling head over heels in love and wanting to hide it? Did she run away with the crown prince of her own free will?
Answers are coming.
If ever a man deserved some gold, a lovely wife and a gigantic castle…it’s him!
The Prince that was Promised
If Jon is in fact Azor Ahai reborn, does this make Daenerys Nissa Nissa?
In a nutshell, Nissa Nissa was the wife of Azor Ahai and he sacrificed her to create the famous sword, Lightbringer.
It’s a long shot but it might be true.
The White Walkers
Winterfell seems to be one of their main targets but does their connection with House Stark run deeper? What do their mysterious symbols mean?
Hate to tweet GOT spoilers, but the army of the dead forming the Stark wolf sigil pretty much confirms it: NC State to the CFP. pic.twitter.com/MsT9aDS9NE

The Iron Throne
Will Cersei miraculously hold onto power? Can the Night King conquer Westeros and kill every living person? Will the Targaryen alliance between Jon and Daenerys be enough to defeat the dead and rule the Seven Kingdoms?
Perhaps the Iron Throne will be dissolved.
After seven seasons, this is what everyone has been fighting for. We can’t wait to see who gets the prize.
The eternal mystery.
