Harry Styles 'attacked' mid-concert in disturbing new trend

By Sophie Collins

A worrying trend is emerging at concerts across the globe

Harry Styles was hit in the face mid-concert while on stage in Austria this weekend.

Video footage from the performance on Saturday, July 8, shows the 29-year-old singer bent over in pain after an object was fired from the crowd.

It is understood that Styles was struck near his eye, with the Watermelon Sugar singer seen clutching his face with his hands during the performance.

Harry was performing at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna when the incident occurred, and fans have been recalling the moment on Twitter since.

The incident is the latest in a worrying trend of objects being thrown on stage during concerts.

Last month, Bebe Rexha was hit in the face by a phone which was thrown from the crowd.

She had to halt her show in New York and was seen walking towards the back of the stage holding her face after the device hit the side of her head.

New York Police later confirmed that a 27-year-old concertgoer had been charged with assault.

Just days later, US singer Ava Max suffered a scratch to the inside of her eye after a man jumped on stage during a show and hit her.

And just last week, Drake was hit on the arm when a concert-goer threw their phone at him.

Adele recently spoke out against the worrying trend that is arising. She told her audience she would “kill” them if they tried to hurl something at her mid-performance.

The British singer chatted to her audience during a Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace, and said: “Have you noticed how people are like, forgetting f****** show etiquette at the moment? People just throwing s**t on stage, have you seen that?

“I f****** dare you. Dare you to throw something at me and I’ll f****** kill you.”

Meanwhile, singer Charlie Puth tweeted his anger at the trend, writing: “This trend of throwing things at performers while they are on stage must come to an end.

“It’s so disrespectful and very dangerous.”

“Please just enjoy the music I beg of you.”
