‘What a sad little life, Jane’ contending with new Channel 4 twist

For those unfamiliar with the show, four bed and breakfast owners compete against each other by spending one night at each contestant’s establishment.

All contestants judge each other's bed and breakfasts in quality of sleep, cleanliness, and overall value of their stay, deciding whether they would overpay or underpay their stay compared to the listed price. 

The contestant with the most money at the end of the week is crowned best hotel of the week.

However, rarely does British television see sabotage quite like this edition of Four in a Bed. 

Saban first caught the eye of viewers by paying £500 for his stay at Mark and Anne’s B&B, overpaying more than £220 from the original costs. An unheard story for the TV show thus far. 

Anne came close to tears when Saban came to describe their bed and breakfast, saying that his stay was “perfect” and the £500 was worth every penny.

Saban quickly switched his tone when he turned to Ami and Mark, saying that “there is no way” he could allow them to win. 

“It was a game play from the start, the way I see it I cheated to stop the other cheaters winning,” he continued. 

Saban came last in the competition, but he didn't come last in the viewers hearts, gaining much support for his role on the TV show. 

He said that “if they were going to play the game, I was going to play that too,” unbothered by finding himself at the bottom of the contest.

The clip went viral and fans from all over came in support with Saban.

Jono Read shared the clip on X, with the comment: “Absolute cinema on Four in a Bed.”

Ben Hansen-Hicks went on to hail it as: “Omg this decade’s come dine with me worthy viral moment.”

Alongside a picture of the legendary ‘Sad Little Life Jane’ incident from Come Dine With Me, Alex Watson said that the Four in a Bed clip was “a worthy successor at last.”
