The Ballerina is an assassin whose family is killed and subsequently embarks on a journey of revenge.
The film was directed by Len Wiseman, known for the Underworld series of film.
The flick starring Ana De Armas is set in the fictional world of John Wick, in between the events of the third and fourth movie.
The trailer was first premiered in April at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
“How do I start doing what you do?” De Armas' character asks the legendary hit man, to which he replies: “Looks like you already have."
Ballerina has a stacked supporting cast including Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick in his last on-screen appearance after his untimely death last year.
Officially announced in April 2022, Ballerina has had its release date delayed to June 6, 2025 for additional shooting.
Lionsgate motion picture group chair Adam Fogelson said "the filmmakers were given the opportunity to add significant set pieces to the film."
