The term ‘all-star cast’ is often overused, but upcoming film The Big Short ticks an awful lot of boxes.
Directed by Adam McKay, the man behind the Anchorman films, it is as far from screwball comedy as you can imagine.
This is in no small part due to a cast comprising three Oscar winners – Christian Bale, Melissa Leo and Marisa Tomei – and past Best Actor nominees Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell and Brad Pitt
There’s even some healthy British representation aside from American Hustle star Bale, with Karen Gillan and Rafe Spall also involved.
We wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up in the running for Best Picture.
