At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, things didn’t look too good for Peter Parker, as he slowly turned into dust (I mean, spoilers, but it was the biggest film of the year, and has been absolutely meme’d to death, so you almost definitely know what happens by now).
But we are pretty certain that Spider-Man is going to be ok. Do you know why? Because Disney have confirmed the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homcoming, for July 5th, 2019.
That is how capitalism works.
Anyway, while we were all getting excited about the Avengers: Endgame trailer, the trailer for Far From Home was shown to fans in Brazil, at the CCXP Comic Con, with Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal in attendance.
It hasn’t been made available for the public yet, but reports have of course hit the internet. Apparently, it makes no mention of Endgame, and features Gyllenhaal’s villainous Mysterio in a costume very similar to his classic comic book get-up.
But an image has leaked - of Spider-Man in a new, all-black ‘stealth costume’. And it looks pretty cool.
https://twitter.com/DanielRPK/status/1071488700515868672 It looks a lot like the Spider-Man Noir costume. For the non-nerds, that was from a line comics set in an alternate Marvel Universe based in the 1930s and 1940s, which took influence from detective fiction and black & white crime movies. The character has been featured in several video games, and most notably in the upcoming animated Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, where he is voiced by none other than Nicolas Cage. We've got no idea how this suit fits into the storyline of Far From Home, but hopefully it comes from Peter Parker watching a load of 1980s ninja movies. And if you are hoping to see the footage in action with you own eyes... well, don't hold your breath. Apparently they said it won't be released for months.Explore more on these topics:
