"It's been over a decade. Time to accept the truth... Morinus is my home. You're my home," exclaims Star-Lord.
"Thanks for accepting me, guys," he continues.
Mors replies: "Congratulations, Peter Quill. The you-that-was is over. You're newborn. And ready to learn our ways."
The issue is written by Al Ewing and drawn by Juann Cabal.
There is no word if this will transfer over to the film series, where Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill.
Str-Lord was created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan, first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 back in 1976. The son of a woman from Colorado and a space alien named J'son, he ends up heading into space himself and forming the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The character remained mostly obscure until the early 2000s, when Marvel resurrected the Guardians of the Galaxy as part of their intergalactic 'Annihilation' storyline.
Those stories lead to Marvel adapting the Guardians for the big screen. Chris Pratt played Star-Lord in the movie version, alongside Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Racoon) and Vin Diesel (Groot).Explore more on these topics:
