Princess Eugenie has given birth to a baby girl, her third child with husband Jack Brooksbank. The daughter was born on Monday 3 August at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6lbs 9oz, Buckingham Palace confirmed.
Eugenie, 36, announced the news on Instagram alongside a photograph of the newborn, the BBC reported. The baby is the first girl for the couple, who are already parents to sons August, born in 2021, and Ernest, born in 2023 – the latest in a string of high-profile birth announcements to make headlines this year.
“Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie,” the princess wrote.
The new arrival, who will not hold an HRH title, becomes 15th in line to the throne. The daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, Eugenie married Brooksbank in 2018 and the couple divide their time between Portugal and Ivy Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Buckingham Palace said the King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family were “delighted” at the news. A name for the baby girl is yet to be announced.
