Ewan McGregor has turned down an offer to appear on ITV show Good Morning Britain in protest against Piers Morgan.
The actor was due to appear on the show this morning alongside presenters Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan, but the actor pulled out when he heard Morgan would be presenting.
He was supposed to discuss T2 Trainspotting but instead tweeted this: “Was going on Good Morning Britain, didn’t realise @piersmorgan was host. Won’t go on with him after his comments about #WomensMarch.”

His stance against Morgan comes after the TV host’s comments about the thousands of women who marched over the weekend following Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Morgan was made aware of the tweet while on air and read it out to viewers saying that it didn’t really matter what McGregor thought because he is “just an actor”.
He followed it up with a tweet of his own.

Morgan then later hit back with a series of tweets aimed at McGregor.

The Good Morning Britain presenter has been very vocal in opposing the Women’s Marches that happened around the world in opposition to newly-inaugurated President Trump.
He has heatedly debated the issue with his co-host Susanna Reid saying:
“For every woman who marches with good intent there are women who I would categorise as ‘rabid feminists’ who don’t like men very much. I did a joke about having a men’s march to co-counter the emasculation of my gender and it went down incredibly badly. The one thing you can’t do with rabid feminists is make jokes. No humour is allowed at all.”
Later he added:
“I’m all in favour of equality and I absolutely support women’s rights completely. But I don’t see the point of that march. I don’t know what the focus was. I don’t know what they were hoping to change. President Trump has been in two days and hasn’t done anything yet to infringe female rights.”
Over the weekend Morgan tweeted repeatedly about the marches and called for Madonna to be arrested over her comments about the new White House administration.

Which held until yesterday when Trump restricted abortion funding as one of his first acts.
We have a feeling this isn’t the last time we will see words exchanged between these two and indeed Morgan couldn’t even contain himself for the rest of the show.
He said he hopes the actor wins an award at the National Television Awards he can shove the award where the sun doesn’t shine.
