Everyone is saying the same thing about actor 'chosen as next James Bond'

He’s been labelled an ‘excellent choice for Bond’

Film fans have been reacting to the news that the next James Bond actor has reportedly been chosen by producers.

The question of who will be the next James Bond has swirled around the world of film ever since Daniel Craig fell on his sword in No Time To Die.

The likes of Henry Cavill, Idris ElbaRegé-Jean PageTom Holland and, most recently, Cillian Murphy have all been linked with the role.

Meanwhile, fans have been clamouring for Theo James to be given a license to kill following his performance in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen.

But on Tuesday morning, reports emerged that Aaron Taylor-Johnson had been ‘formally offered’ the role and would be signing the contract “in the coming days.”

A source told the Sun: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.

“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”

And it sounds like plenty of people will be pretty happy if Taylor-Johnson is the next 007.

In particular, people referenced the 33-year-old’s performance as an assassin in 2022 action film Bullet Train as evidence that he’s suited to the role of Bond.

Writing on X, one person shared: “If the news I’m seeing circulate this morning has any validity to it, I’m going to be one happy Bond fan. Aaron-Taylor Johnson has been my pick for quite some time.”

Another said: “Overjoyed about Aaron Taylor-Johnson being the new 007. Totally called this when he was in Bullet Train. That ‘walk’ is nothing short of phenomenal.”

A third wrote: “Well I’m very happy if Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the new Bond.”

Someone else penned: “Aaron Taylor Johnson is an excellent choice for Bond. I thought Craig was great, but I still hope for an antidote to Craig. I have no idea how Johnson will play Bond, but I’m hoping for less efficient, less serious.”

Along with Bullet Train, Taylor-Johnson is perhaps best known for his lead role in Kick-Ass and his performances in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tenet and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
