Eurovision fans really don’t want James Corden to host the next contest

April Curtin

He could return just in time for the UK to host Eurovision

Eurovision fans are actually pleading the BBC to keep James Corden “away” from the song contest.

The 2023 Eurovision could be held in the UK, it was announced on Friday. Ukraine won this year’s contest and should therefore be hosting, but the ongoing war means this can not currently be guaranteed.

BBC are therefore considering the request to host the competition next year. And if we were to host, this could coincide with James Corden’s leaving behind his role presenting The Late Late Show in the US to return to the UK, as he recently announced.

But Eurovision fans are really keen to make sure these two worlds do not collide, Metro reports.

Posting on Twitter, one wrote: “Just started crying because James Corden is coming back to the U.K. the same year they’re hosting Eurovision.”

“My whole day has been ruined,” another replied.

One fan questioned: “Is it too soon to start a petition to stop James Corden from hosting #Eurovision in the UK next year?”

“Keep James Corden away from Eurovision,” another simply stated.

It is clear that there are a number of Brits who want the Gavin and Stacey star to stay away from Eurovision. Not only that, but a petition was even launched to try and stop him coming back to the UK altogether.

Though it’s worth noting that earlier petitions about Corden include getting him in One Direction, making him England Manager or making a new series of Gavin and Stacey. So, clearly we’re not all Corden-haters in this country.
